Chocolate & Lavender Cookies
Chocolate & Lavender Cookies
So I was glancing through photos with my youngest today and apparently my hair in the late 80’s looks like I belonged in a rock band.
He didn’t even think it was me,
he couldn’t stop laughing when I told him it was me.
So next up was showing him a photo of himself just a few years ago and well the laughter began again.
I just love going through old photos with my kids.
I fear I will not keep up with albums, and that everything will be all digital,
I kinda like that albums are tangible….what I don’t like it now having to sort through the many, many photos on the computer and then ordering them and deciding what I was in an album, digital or paper.
I’m confused, what to do….tell me I’m not alone.
What will memories e for my kids when they are older and have kids of their own?
The best question to ask at this time is, WHY am I even worried about this? Am I part of the worry generation, we want everything just right for our kids…have I gone nuts.
Bring me back to reality and tell me your solution to photos in this faced paced digital age!
While we try to figure it all out together…let me share these really fun cookies with you…
They are chocolate and lavender cookies with lavender icing and well….
trust me….they are great!
I’ve been hooked on lavender lately, like with this Lavender Iced Tea, Lavender Lemonade and Lavender Chocolate Chunk Frozen Yogurt.
The cookies are super-yummy all on their own, but really they look NAKED!
So I dressed them all up it a smooth and delicious lavender icing….in the perfect shade of lavender of course.

Today, I’m going to sit with my non-80’s hair and maybe go through and album or two to remind me of just how fast trends change and wonder what will be next..
want to make any predictions?
Tell me if you have used lavender extract before, I’d love to see what you have made with it.
Lavender Chocolate Chunk Frozen Yogurt
I’m SO behind on albums it’s frightening. I need maybe an entire weekend alone or even a week to get it all sorted out and then someone to buy them for me because i’m sure it’ll cost a pretty penny. Pass me a gorgeous cookie to calm me? 🙂
a weekend, I think I need a month 🙂
These cookies look so cute! Love them!
I think that real tangible albums are awesome. Whenever I go home, I pull out some of my parents albums from when I was a kid…it’s fun to look at. Not only the pictures, but knowing my Mom made those albums. It’s more than just a picture book. Ive been trying to do the same – keeping a scrap book – its hard. But I find myself enjoying that way more than clicking through face book photos.
I had a chocolate lavendar bar the other day, and it was so unusual and delicious! It makes me REALLY want to try these cookies!
It’s a surprisingly yummy combo 🙂
You make the prettiest cookies, Diane. Your cutouts are always so beautifully perfect. 🙂
I’m guilty of not creating albums, which is sad because there are so many images that I’ve forgotten about that are on disk. I miss my mother’s organized and beautifully laid out photo albums. I really do need to get mine together. Thanks for mentioning it – on my to-do list to get started so we can enjoy them now.
Thanks Cristina, I hope we both tackle our to do lists soon 🙂
I love these pretty cookies!
I keep telling myself I need to do something with all my photos before I croak. I don’t see much movement in either direction. 🙂
Before my mother died she made two scrapbooks for each child and I treasure mine.
I keep trying to get motivated to do the scrapbooks….I hope I get to it soon too.
Oh these are so pretty, I just love this recipe 🙂
I’m not a huge fan of lavender but these cookies caught my eye. So pretty!
Diane! Rejoice in technology! I’m so envious of the computer generation and iPhoto! I have old yellowed photos of my boys growing up. Now, you load them onto your computer and they are preserved forever! To print out beautifully as you please! So wonderful!!
Do you remember about how many cookies this recipe made, using this cookie cutter? I realize using smaller or larger cutters will change the numbers but for right now I’m just going to stick with the heart. I’m going to guess it might be about a 3-inch heart? thanks
This recipe makes 3 dozen cookies using this cookie cutter rolled to 1/4″ thick.
