Chocolate Cupcake and Cream Cheese Frosting Recipes

Perfect Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese frosting, oh it sure is a FAVORITE around here.
Having a chocolate cupcake recipe is a MUST in your recipe box. Also cream cheese frosting is good on just about ANYTHING. It’s smooth and creamy and I love it on Carrot Cake and Red Velvet Cake and well just about everything deserves this delicious frosting!
Chocolate Cupcake Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 3/4 cups sifted flour
- 2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 t. teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup butter
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
Instructions
- In a medium bowl combine cocoa and water mixing with a whisk until smooth. Cool completely. Sift flour with baking soda, salt, and baking powder.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Beat on high butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla 5 minutes.
- On low blend in flour mixture and cocoa mixture
- Do Not Overbeat
- bake approx 12 to 15 minutes
Cream Cheese Frosting
Ingredients
- 4 oz. package cream cheese
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- this recipe can easily be doubled
Instructions
- Beat all together until smooth and creamy.
Place sprinkles on top of icing and for the cute little rose, I rolled some red fondant and placed it on top. Here is a post on how to make fondant out of marshmallow.
